    euro headlight install?`

    hey where do i find DIY's for Euro headlight conversion....i have a 91 E-30 325i / 4. I have been playing with the plugs and if i have all 3 wire connected to the low beam then my high beam stays on all the time. Thanks for the help.

    I believe Franz's site has the proper wiring schematic.

        Mine (archercc.net) is for going from the sealed beams to ellipsoids. You mentioned a 3 wire plug so you might want to check that one out.

        Here is the new working link for Dons writeup: http://www.m3bmw.com/ee.html

        His has the parts list for the high beams:

        High Beam Caps (x2) = 63-12-1-381-190 {US retail= $18.10 /each}
        Circular wiring connectors- (green wire sections about 12 inches long) (x4) = 61-13-0-007-445 {US retail $3.00 /each}
        White connector plugs (x2) = 61-13-1-378-417 {US retail $1.45/ each

        Someday I will add the parts list for the lows. Did you get a kit with a wiring harness that goes to the 3 prong plug or are yours a cut and splice deal?
        Im now E30less.

          cut and splice the wires...kinda suck's...on the low beam there are 3 connectors one brown (ground) and the other 2 that are on there....do this....the top one i think is yellow...that one is when the high beams are off it turns on the low beam....when the high beams are on then it shuts off that light.....the other wire..can't remember color turns on the low beam when the high's are on...if i plug a jumper between the "low and high" wires on the low beam it will turn on the highs beams and you can not turn them off with out disconectining that wire....hope that makes sence haha

            OK, did you wire the highs normally? If no then do, just those two that were in the high in the first place.

            Then look at my writeup, you ONLY use the yellow low beam wire. Seal off and ignore the white wire. Then do the relay mod listed at the bottom of the page and the lights will work normally. I know this works, I have been running the setup for over a year and the guy that gave me the idea for the relay mod has been running it a LOT longer.

              yeah I used your guide for the relay mod, I didn't solder or anything, just stuck a 14 gauge wire in the pins and crammed the relay on top. works like a charm, even if I never use my high beams. :up:
